As an independent, community based and community supported genetic counseling program, we rely on support from grants and donors like you.
- Our genetics program provides comprehensive genetic counseling and genetic testing coordination. We are one of 4 cancer genetic counseling services and the only adult cardiovascular genetics service in upstate NY.
- We actively provide medical professional education and many public lectures across upstate NY.
- We have taken a leadership role in bringing attention to issues raised by Direct to Consumer Genetic Testing in NYS and we have an ongoing program to educate policy makers about the advances of genetics and genomics and patient care.
This year, we are facing new challenges, needs and opportunities. We are doing more with a lot less. We are committed to assuring that families have the most current information and access to new genetic testing options for cancer, heart disease and Alzheimer's/dementia. At the same time, we are continuing our services in pediatric genetics and prenatal/preconception genetic counseling.
We can't reach these goals without you. Please consider making a financial contribution.
The Ferre Genetic Counseling Program is part of a 501(c)3 not for profit organization. We are funded in part by the NYS Department of Health Genetics Services programs, 2011 Special Projects-March of Dimes, and private donations. Your donation is tax deductible. Take a moment now to write a check or make a credit card contribution that will help to keep these services available.
